 The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is a statewide investigative law enforcement agency in South Carolina. SLED provides manpower and technical assistance to other law enforcement agencies and conducts investigations on behalf of the state as directed by the Governor and Attorney General.  The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is a state cabinet agency committed to serving South Carolina's youth offenders. DJJ is responsible for providing custodial care and rehabilitation for the state’s children who are incarcerated, on probation or parole, or in community placement for a criminal or status offense. The SCDC protects the citizens by confining offenders in controlled facilities and by providing rehabilitation.  The South Carolina Department of Corrections is the agency responsible for corrections in the U.S. state of South Carolina.  The South Carolina Attorney General serves as South Carolina’s Chief Prosecutor, Chief Legal Officer, and Chief Securities Officer. The Office includes a Legal Services Division, which includes securities, tobacco & general litigation, consumer protection & antitrust litigation, and special litigation; an Opinions Division; a Criminal Prosecution Division, which prosecutes a wide array of crimes and includes separate sections which handle the prosecution of cases from the State Grand Jury, Violence Against Women, Medicaid Recipient Fraud, Internet Crimes Against Children, Sexually Violent Predators, Medicaid Provider Fraud and Exploitation of Vulnerable Adults; a Criminal Litigation Division, which includes criminal appeals, post-conviction relief, and capital litigation; a Victim Advocacy Division Services Division that supports victims and their families with the criminal justice process; and a Crime Victim Services Division supporting crime victim compensation, grants, ombudsman, training, provider certification, and statistical analysis. The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS) is charged with the community supervision of offenders placed on probation by the court and paroled by the State Board of Paroles and Pardons.
